The 20kg Potters white clay is a versatile pure stoneware clay that has excellent throwing characteristics. The clay suits many applications including raku firings because of good thermal shock resistance. Drying shrinkage 5-8%, total when fired about 16%. Firing range Cone 9-10 (1257-1282 degrees centigrade). You can vitrify the clay to turn it into glass making the items safe to eat off, use in the dishwasher or be left outside. When air-dried the clay is not suitable for outdoor weather or dishwasher use.
